2008... New Year... Same Year?

The year 2008 started off pretty quietly and has remained quiet. I like it that way I guess. But here are some nice topics to chew on....

1) Marcus Ng Yi Loong.... Who??? Aiya that guy who plays the kid in PCK lah... He went into DB or Detention Barracks, the dreaded place of all NS boys and maybe a few reservists. Why is it so terrible? Well there have been horror stories coming out from there and if you do not know it, then you do not deserve to know it..... As for the lady readers who say they never went army so do not know..... go and ask your boy boy lah!!!

Anyway, he went into the military slammer for insubordination. That was the main thing I have been telling and rambling about. We Singaporeans think too much about ourselves? We think we are better, we think we are great. So we rebel. I am a classic rebel. I went overseas to study and instead of following all the other Asian goondus who went for Marketing and Accountancy and other business based or IT based degrees, I went to Social Science and Japanese studies.

When other peoplecame back to start a life aftertheir degrees, I went theopposite direction and went overseas to seek a job..... maybe it was for a char bor lah.... but then u see..... doing something outside the norm does have its advantages!!! hehehehehe

Anyway, back to Aloy..... when in Rome, do what the Romans do lah... why rock the boat!? During my time, in the late 80's, things were harsher and so were the senior commanders. Now life is so nice and so much better. Just do it and get out lor....

2) A wonderful person actually came back into my life. Its my ex and er name is X..... no pun intended hor... For the wonderful readers who read my blog, do not worry... I am not having a new flame or what. X just sms'd me and thanked me for loving her through the years we were together. I must admit that I had a pretty bad time and it went on for quit a while, but for everything good or bad, I always take it as a lesson and or a gift. In this case, the lesson was.... never marry a Singapore Char bor...... just joking lah... there are good ones around lah. But like the prawn peeling saga I mentioned a few topics before, the Singapore girl wants the guy to pamper her..... I am too old for this shit..... Just like what Danny Glover used to say in "Lethal Weapon" don know if I mention movie names the authorities will crash down on me for Intellectual Property misuse or not????>

I have yet to actually go out and do some moon and star watching. I am hoping for some clear skies and also good weather so that I can go out. Maybe when M comes back. She will be back in Feb and we will try to make monkeys..... oopps I mean babies..... but it will be in the year of the rat.... so maybe mice.... but my threat to her is that if we do not have a baby this year, at the end of the year, I will buy a monkey!!!!
