Justice???
Now I can give a name because he has been charged and sentenced. Mr. Regan Lee, the guy who test drove a Mazda Mx5 and crashed it and killed an SE has been sentenced to 10years suspension of license and 7 months jail. There is a hoo haa about how he pleaded guilty and was therefore charged for a lesser crime and so on. However, not being to drive legally for 10years is a pretty heavy sentence.
He is now 26, so by the time he can drive again, he will be 36. Hopefully he will be wiser and more mature.
The problem is that many young guys think about pure power for the car. But then they do not consider the problem of the safety of the car and so on. It takes a lot to do up a car. From engine to brakes to braces to every other thing. It is not just pure power, but stopping power, turning stability and so on.
That was why Little Regan had problems with his Mx5. He was not used to a rear wheel drive, the road was less than optimal and also the car was stock. Most high performance cars already come pretty well set up for its power. But like my car i spent money on better brakes, braces and so on. If not, I would also not dare to "benchmark" with other cars.
So I do hope that now the issue is closed, I do wish that the "other" parties will be able to sue him and make him pay for his misdeed, but I also hope that he will come out to be a more mature driver. It does not take much to make a car powerful. But it also take little to make a car an effective weapon.
