A life wasted... A life lost
I am feeling agitated these few days and it was really bad yesterday. The reason being that w cetain driver who test drove a Mazda Mx5 almost 2 years ago, without any intention of buying the car, caused the death of the poor sales person. Ms. He Xueli was a young lady who had been in the company only for a few months.
The issue is have is that he has not been charged and or the case has not come to a finality. The further issue is that he is still at large and driving cars in Singapore. I have friends and realtives who are on the streets at almost any time of the day. The thought of such a driver being allowed to keep driving, and for such a long period of time is beyond comprehension.
Perhaps he is the son of a rich and influential man or family, however, he has no excuse for his behavior and also for his attitude. According the reports, he is prominant in the forums and claims to eat performance cars for breakfast lunch and dinner. What caused the whole shin bang to explode was that he started a link wondering if he were to buy a Rex or GTI. Should he even be allowed to drive? He tested other cars and the sales people reported that he was very aggressive. His claim was that he was unused to a rear wheel drive and lost control. I have driven both types of cars before. At reasonable speeds, (reasonable being anything below 60km/hr) there is not much of a difference in handling. The road that he tested on was also very bad. However, no matter what, it all points to speed and negligence. These are things that will kill. Not necessarily the driver, maybe other people on the road.
So I sigh with a heavy heart as I ponder over this. I am in a few forums and there are idiots who love power and speed. But at the expense of what? Of course, we are brought up not to feel for others and only ourselves, but sometimes it is too much. As in my previous posts, I know of idiots who cheat, lie and so on. Though I am not religious and I do not really believe in Karma and so on, I believe that one day we will reap what we sow. But what if the time comes and it is not we who sow the bitter harvest of our past? What if it is our family?
Just a few points to ponder my gentle readers.. Life is precious.....
