I bought my New Place

I officially exercised the option to buy a 5 room flat..... YEA!!!!

The first appointment with HDB will be in March..... YEA!!!!!

I still will not tell you guys where it is.... YEA!!!!!!!

Anyway, its a kinda hassle to buy a flat here. Have so many appointments and so on, but I guess it is to protect both buyers and sellers. Now will come the time to plan what I will put in and so on. Oh yea.... if some people think that I have plenty of money... dream on babes.... hehehehehe now even more broke.

But then if I happen to die, the insurance for the new place will kick in and my descendants will be sitting on almost 750k at present property values. Cool huh? Just like any normal singaporean, I am cash poor and asset rich... hahahahahaha.

But it is all for the future I guess. At the end of the day, there is something to call "my home".

Well cash poor asset rich me gonna look for things to put into my home now, but sob sob... its not gonna be a bachelor pad guys..... mom's gonna stay with me. Ciaos for now

How to buy a HDB

I have been looking at and viwing some 5 room HDB flats recently. I am amazed at how some people think that their house is worth so much.

I think that almost everyone is asking for at least 10k above valuation. Perhaps it is the current lack of appreciation of price in the markets or wishful thinking. I am just happy if my condo fetches at valuation man. So what makes you think that I will even want to pay you and extra cent?

Some more some of the sellers actually try to ignore us when we visit their house. If you walk me around and tell me how much you have done for your house and how much you have loved it, I may just consider. But if you try to ignore me, then I shall do the same too.... hee hee.

But seriously folks, both ways, buyers and sellers, lets try to be cool ya? Some sellers are so desperate to sell their place that they will follow you all around like the lady from a department store trying to get you to buy their products. Or maybe it is because they are afraid that we will go in a lift some of their things. Stay a respectful distance away and offer information when something seems to interest the buyers.

For buyers, for goodness sakes.. do not gush and or talk about the advantages and or disadvantages of a place, especially if it pertains to another flat you just saw. A good agent will spot you and will us the information to do hard selling and you might just end up being psycho'd.

Oh shit... now that I have written that I am gonna buy a flat, maybe some idiot will think that I am doing really well. Uuuuhhhh not really hor.

But seriously though, I personally feel that the 5% cash is a bit of a strain because on top of this, if you are paying more than valuation, you will have to pay in cash. In this way, you might just need to fork out at least 10k plus. Heyyyyyyy.... where to find man... rob a bank ah.....

True what, if I had 10k, I would be a very happy man lor. Imagine an old guy like me who has to get married at the end of the year and having to save up for that and also having to find 10k for a stupid flat. But no choice mah... everything is money here and money does not grow on trees.

Anyway... me gonna find meself a new old flat and make it into a beautiful home for me and my mom and M.
